Small hands. Big ideas.

It all began at our kitchen table.

Hello, we’re the Sheffield family behind Tree Spirits. Our little world grew from Oliver’s imagination, a shared love of nature, and making things by hand.

How the magic began

A whole forest of personalities.

At first there were sketches, moss and paint spread across our table. Then each tiny character began to develop its own expression, name and adventure. Soon, there was a hidden world waiting to be discovered.

Some spirits look shy. Others seem to be planning something. Their faces are a reminder that even the smallest things can hold a story — especially when you stop to look closely.

Tree Spirits are cast, finished and painted by hand in small batches at our Sheffield home. No two faces are quite the same, and each spirit arrives with a little certificate for its new guardian.

Inspired by our city of trees

Sheffield is woven into every story.

From Rivelin’s hidden streams to ancient woods, neighbourhood parks and tree-lined streets, nature is never far away here. Woodland walks give us ideas for the characters, their hiding places and the adventures they might have.

We want our stories to encourage little explorers to look closer at the trees around them. A root becomes a doorway. A knot in the bark becomes a face. The ordinary becomes a little less ordinary.

From our table to your adventure

Now you can step into the story.

Brumblethorn’s Mischief brings the Tree Spirits world to Leah’s Yard. There are clues to follow, puzzles to solve and a colour-changing potion to make — with one very grumpy old spirit waiting beneath the roots.

It is the same spirit of curiosity and handmaking, turned into an adventure children and their grown-ups can share.
